A women's volleyball match was interrupted when rioting fans forced players to leave the court under the protection of Greek riot police. The incident started when the referee at the A1 division volleyball finals in Athens ordered the stands behind the service line emptied after spectators started throwing objects at the players. The situation then worsened as police clashed with outraged fans, leading to the temporary stoppage of the game.

After the match resumed Panathainiakos beat Olympiakos in five sets. No arrested were reported.
