Heisman Trophy 2008

The Heisman Trophy is handed out tonight at the Nokia Theatre in New York, and this year's Heisman Race has an element of drama to it. The Heisman Trophy winner is one of the biggest mysteries in each college football season.

These years nominees are Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, and three have a shot at winning the prestigious prize.

Tebow won the Heisman last year.

....

.....

“I think this year especially, no one really knows who is going to win,” Bradford said in an interview at a Midtown hotel. “It’s going to be a fun race.”

Adding to the intrigue is that if Tebow wins, he will join Archie Griffin as the second two-time winner in history. Bradford is considered a slight favorite, but three Heisman straw polls have projected a different finalist as the winner.

Each player brings a strong and distinct case, starting with the fact that each led his team to a one-loss season.
