Herb Pope-Darko Cohadarevic Groin Punch Video at 2010 NIT
The NIT 2010 Has Started and All Anyone Is Talking Is Groins Thanks to the Herb Pope-Darko Cohadarevic Groin Punch and the Phillip Williams-Dee Bost Crotch Shot. The Herb Pope Punch May Have Cost Seton Hall coach Bobby Gonzalez His Job
Well, the 2010 NIT tournament is off to a flying start thanks to a series of punches to the groin.
Texas Tech managed to take down Seton Hall, but not without one of their players paying the price. Seton Hall's Herb Pope hit Texas Tech player Darko Cohadarevic in the crotch during the Seton Hall-Texas Tech game.
The first Herb Pope crotch shot came when the two players were tussling for position in the paint. The second Herb Pope groin punch came by the three-point line. In the Herb Pope-Darko Cohadarevic video, you can see Herb Pope give Cohadarevic a little fist to the groin. Not surprisingly, Cohadarevic crumpled to the floor.
Herb Pope was ejected from the game for the groin shots. Cohaderevic ended up with 12 points, not bad when you considered that he was recovering from a couple of shots to the junk.
For a lot of college hoops fans, the Herb Pope groin punch video just confirms all the negative things they already think about Seton Hall and head coach Bobby Gonzalez. Under Gonzo's leadership, the team has lacked discipline on and off the court.
Herb Pope was supposed to be a promising player, but has been hounded by troubles since his days at New Mexico State.
Phillip Williams and Dee Bost
Surprisingly, Herb Pope wasn't the only NIT player with a groin obsession. Jackson State’s Phillip Williams hit Mississippi State’s Dee Bost’s in the crotch. Like Pope, Williams was ejected and when you see the Phillip Williams-Dee Bost video, you can see why.
UPDATE Bobby Gonzalez is no longer Seton Hall's head coach. Gonzalez was let go Wednesday morning. The Herb Pope punch may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
