And this 1 walked away, lucky SOB.
(220 is nuthin'. Gil Ferran set the fastest race qualifying lap in world history at Calif. Speedway in 2000 @ 241+. In retrospect the failure of CART to IRL seemed a step back however CART drivers citing speeds at Fontana were already saying "enough" with sustained lateral G's at 3.0 and straightaway speeds close to 250)
On a side note I hear the movie about Senna is a masterpiece.

Hey thanks for that link. Between the trailer and the comments on it I guess the review was right.
It placed the credit squarely upon the one most responsible: Senna. I spent a while watching related videos, it's really amazing how many fatalities there were in F1 and Indy car racing in the 60's and 70's. Some you see once and if you never see it again, it still repeats in your mind- like Tom Pryce in South Africa, or Giles Villeneuve being thrown far from his disintegrating car.
