Hulk Hogan Joins TNA Wrestling: Eric Bischoff Joins Hogan at TNA
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has announced that he is joining TNA Wrestling. The longtime wrestler will be joined by wrestling personality Eric Bischoff. Hulk Hogan plans to make his TNA debut on TNA Impact, which will air on Spike TV, Thursday Oct. 29.
Hulk Hogan's role with TNA has yet to be revealed. Many are speculating that the veteran wrestler will spend relatively little time inside the ring. Hulk Hogan is joining TNA after lengthy stints with WCW and, of course, the WWF, where he became arguably the most popular wrestler of his generation.
The signing of Hulk Hogan to TNA could make for backstage fireworks as Hogan has not gotten along with TNA exec Vince Russo. Some are already speculating that Hogan's signing could lead to Russo's departure from TNA.
Hogan has also been critical of TNA in the past.
Hulk Hogan said the TNA program looked like the "dying days" of WCW with the Main Event Mafia standing around talking to each other rather than wrestling. "I watched Sting in the business suit without his make-up and it's kind of like the NWO not when the NWO was hot, but when the NWO started losing steam when these guys didn't want to wrestle anymore and all they wanted to do was talk," Hogan said in February. "TNA is lacking that one momentum-shifting move, that one big name that would even the playing field ... TNA's lacking the big piece of the puzzle," he said.
Clearly, Hogan thinks his arrival will the momentum-shifter that the TNA needs.
