Husker Fans Do "The Wave" by Christopher Landis

The Nebraska Cornhuskers did something on Saturday that they haven't done all year - run the ball effectively. Behind Marlon Lucky's 103 rushing yards, the Huskers steamrolled past the New Mexico St. Aggies, piling up 330 yards on the ground before it was over. Meanwhile, Nebraska quarterback, Joe Ganz, scored three different ways by throwing for a touchdown, rushing for a touchdown, and catching a TD pass. Ganz became the third player in the program's history to accomplish the feat. Heisman Trophy winners Johnny Rodgers and Eric Crouch are the other two players.

Lucky ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. His 103 rushing yards put him over 2,000 yards for his career. At times, Nebraska resembled the Husker teams of lore by throwing in a few triple-option plays.

The Huskers' running game had been virtually non-existant in their first two games, rushing for only 138 yards and 99 yards, respectively.

After driving the ball down the field in their first possession, the Aggies were held to a field-goal attempt. However, the 20-yard attempt was blocked by Zach Potter. The Huskers never looked back.

It appeared that Nebraska was destined to record a shutout. Yet, second string Husker quarterback, Patrick Witt, fumbled the ball and the Aggies returned it to the Nebraska 3-yard line. They would score on the next play

The Huskers now head into an off week before the Virginia Tech Hokies come into Lincoln on Sept. 27.
