ICC U-19 World Cup -India Vs New Zealand 1st Semi final Review plus Highlights

Indian team in this tournament were streched to their limit for the first time and it was done by undergog New Zealand team but Indian team kept their nerve held and won the most important match which now take them to final of the World Cup. India won the first semis with 3 wickets and they will be now feeling quite relief and will be looking on result of 2nd Semi final Pakistan Vs South Africa to be held on 29th.

The Victory came Indian way due to their bowlers who not only took Wickets at regular intervals but restricted New Zealand for 205 for 8 in 50 overs and to batsmen Shreevats Goswami in particular who played sensible during run chase which was reduced to 191 off 43 overs by the Duckworth-Lewis method. 

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat , the first ten overs gone same as they go in other matches but New Zealand manage to restrict wicket loss to one only. But Indian bowlers looked to take control and wickets were falling in quick seesion and it looke dlike New Zealand will be all out less than 150 but Anderson played a sparking innings of 70 runs with run a ball. and taken New Zealand side to 205 for 8 in 50 overs.

In reply Indian openers looked quite uncomfortable today as they were playing under lights and lost their control and gave the first blow in just 7th over.T Kholi got out on Southee bowling and as soon he departed rain started to come on and match stopped .When match was resumed India had a revised target of 191 for 43 overs and they keeping their nerve made it with 9 ball remaining and with 3 wickets in hand. Southee proved the sucessful bowlers from New Zealand side and took 4 wickets. Virat Kholi was awarded man of the match for his spectacular batting  which took India to a winning position. India will meet winner oof 2nd semi final in Final on Sunday 2nd march.
