Chandigarh Lions clinched the victory by eight runs in their Indian Cricket League Twenty20 championship match against Chennai Superstars in a close tie on Saturday at the Sardar Patel Stadium.

In reply to 163 runs scored by Lions batting first, Superstars were able to score 155 runs in their allotted 20 overs, as the Chandigarh team managed to get breakthroughs at crucial time during the innings.

Lions Daryl Tuffey’s formidable bowling performance at the beginning of the match claiming three crucial wickets and just giving 13 runs in four overs proved very costly for the Superstars as they were not able to get the right start required to chase the total.

In the last overs Andrew Hall also managed to take three crucial wickets.
