My picture shows an impression from the most beautiful soccer stadium in the world (as voted by The London Times), the Signal-Iduna-Park in Dortmund Germany (formerly known as Westfalenstadion).

The Westfalenstadion was build between 1971 and 1974 for the soccer world-cup. It's the biggest pure-soccer arena in germany with a capacity of 80.552 visitors and the home of Borussia Dortmund.

In 2005 Borussia Dortmund sold the name rights to an insurance company and the stadium was renamed to "Signal-Iduna Park". This new name is not accepted by many supporters of Borussia Dortmund who continue to call it Westfalenstadion (Westfalen as in North-Rhine Westfalia)

The former Westfalen Stadium is the home of the Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund, which has been a force in German soccer.  Thanks very much for this story.
