The third test between India and Australia at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi ended in a draw as the two sides decided that a result was not probable early in the afternoon session.

Scorecard - India vs Australia - 3rd Test

Earlier in the day, Gambhir and Dravid started their overnight stay at the crease but the Aussies bowlers came out firing in what was only a hope to make the Indian batting collapse. They were able to get Dravid quickly but Tendulkar and Gambhir persisted as they continued their rich vein in form. Both the batsmen however could not finish their half centuries.

VVS Laxman though did manage to do so and added it to the 200 runs he got in the first innings, as he remained unbeaten in this test match. Sourav Ganguly made 32 in what was his last innings at Kotla. India declared at 208 leaving Australia an improbably target of 245.

In reply, Aussies were 31 for no loss in eight overs, though more importantly this was the last time we saw Anil Kumble as he took an immediate retirement thus bringing an end to a glorious career.
