India vs Pakistan Live Cricket Streaming: Pak set Ind 129 target
India vs Pakistan Live Cricket Streaming: Pakistan waded through choppy waters to set India a target of 129 runs after opting to bat in the Super 8s clash here on Sunday. The team could not even last the full quota of 20 overs, being dismissed in 19.4. See live score
A batting line-up which boasted of players in ripe form, Pakistan failed to get going despite a jittery start from Zaheer which had him bowl ten times for six legitimate deliveries.
Irfan too was greeted with a boundary but he struck back in the same over by trapping Imran Nazir on 8. Shahid Afridi received a promotion and he answered it by smacking a boundary off the first ball he faced.
Afridi had a previous best of 12 in the tournament and while he did manage to surpass it, 14 was all he could end up with before surrendering to L Balaji.
From 35/2, Pakistan crashed to 59/5 with Yuvraj Singh's part-time spin working wonders for India. He got the better of a dangerous Nasir Jamshed (4) and Karmran Akmal (5) to leave the opposition stuttering. There was the rare exchange of words when Yuvraj removed Jamshed but the writing seemed to be on the wall.
Umar Akmal then partnered Shoib Malik and looked to re-construct the innings going into the final few overs. It was not meant to be as Malik (28 off 22) pulled straight to Rohit Sharma to end a fight which promised much more.
Umar continued with his efforts for some time before allowing R Ashwin to claim his second. The innings from here ended on a rather timid note.
With Virender Sehwag back in the side, India will fancy chances to bring down the target. A lot will depend also on Virat Kohli who has been in good form but missed out vs Australia only for his team to lose the match.
