India win Compaq Cup Final beating Srilanka by 46 runs

India beat Srilanka in the finals of Champions Compaq Cup 2009 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to claim the trophy in front of an audience of 35,000 people. India won the game by 46 runs. Since 1988, Sri Lanka and India have faced each other in 13 tournament finals. The Lankans have won 6 times while the Men in Blue have emerged victorious on 6 occasions now.

Hardly matters, isn't it. And he walks away with the Man of the Series award as well. 14th Man of the Series award for him. Both of them are World records. Clap Clap! Yuvraj Singh gets an award for scoring the fastest fifty today. Harbhajan Singh, the most Stylish player: It's a big win, it had been long since we had won a series here in Lanka, last one being in 98'. We could have done better with the ball and fielded well, but then these slips keep happening at times. Sangakkara: We the batsmen should have taken more responsibility while chasing a big total. We were ahead at times but down on wickets. We didn't think about the past and how the conditions are here under the lights, we batted on the merit of the ball. It would have been great had we gone on to win this...

Harbhajan Singh, the most Stylish player

I watched the game. I personally don't think Harbajhan deserved the award. Sachin should have got that too.

I urge all to watch the video of the game. The Indians played a great game, but looked nervous and many of the players were in bad moods, not relaxed and seemed to be shouting at each other during misfields etc. Everyone had scowls on their faces. Just check it out.

I think that may be because of the "final jinx" effect.With all the cricketing talent and stuff, a lot of players are superstitious.

But no matter with a scowl on the face or a bruise, a title won is a title won.. ;-).

Yes, IMHO the man of the match award should have gone to Sachin.

I think what agent meant was the Most stylish player.

India won. They deserved it for the way they played.

He bowled really well utsav. But, where is the style? Wasn't as stylish as Sachin's century or Dilshan's 40+.

india won the tri series mainly thanks to umpire asoka de silva.he refused a lbw decision of yuvraj singh when he was in 2 or something near.(bowling of ajantha mendis).but we never lost like indians .we gave a good fightback.

ishant sharma.harbahjan singh they don’t know how to behave in a cricket match.every time ishant sharma got a wicket he was shouted to the batsman and he always has something to tell to the dismissed batsman.Be polite.
