Indonesia hires Hungarian trainer for WIM Irene Kharisma Sukandar

Jakarta, Apr 1 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chess Association (PB Percasi) said it has hired a chess coach from Hungary, IM Tibor Karolyi, to train Indonesian woman chess player WIM Irene Kharisma Sukandar.

Irene will take part in the Grandmaster Woman`s JAPFA Chess Festival to be held here on April 15-20.

"We have hired Tibor for a month to train Irene," PB Percasi said in a statement made available here on Monday.

Tibor started to train Irene on Monday for eight hours per day.

Tibor once assisted Grand Master Utut Adianto in preparaing for the FIDE World Chess Championship in Tripoli, Lybia, in 2004.

"Tibor is an expert and experienced trainer for chess. I am sure he will be able to improve Irene`s performance," Utut said in the statement. end
