A brief history of Frescoball:
Frescoball, called frescobol by Brazilians who are the originators of the game is a sport similar to tennis. It is played with two wooden racquets and a small rubber ball. It is a cross between ping pong, squash and tennis and is commonly seen being played on many beaches worldwide.
The aim of the game is to hit the ball from person to person without letting it hit the ground. Players stand about 6metres apart and strike the ball back and fourth to each other, trying not to let the ball touch the ground while increasing the pace of the rally gradually. That’s about it. Get a rally going and keep it going. Burn calories and have fun.
There are three different styles: Freestyle, Fastball, Radical, and Professional.
In Brazil there are regular frescobol tournaments and competitions. The Brazilians are just as crazy about frescobol as they are about football.
There are many benefits of playing frescoball;
(1) A great form of exercise. (2) Lots of fun. (3) High calorie burner. (4) Improves your reflexes. (5) A cheap form of exercise. (6) Convenient, can be played almost anywhere.
(7) You will look pretty cool playing it on the beach when you go on holiday.
