The final result of the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Bangalore Royal Challengers might look totally lopsided with Bangalore being bowled out for 82 after attempting a chase down of 222 runs. But the actual reality was that it was basically Brendon McCullum who finished the game in the first session – none of the other Kolkata batsmen looked particularly at ease and though McCullum was given preferential strike treatment to a certain extent, it was more an individual walloping rather than a team thrashing. The Royal Challengers looked dazed when they came out to bat and pretty much collapsed with ease. To put it in a nutshell for those of you who didn’t watch the game – it was like Adam Gilchrist’s innings during the 2007 World Cup Finals vs Sri Lanka – a one man batting effort.
