Isidore Phillip Tisson Was Shot in the Head Outside a Nightclub in Brooklyn Where He Was Celebrating His Winning Goal on Sunday
The motive for the killing is not known, but soccer player Isidore Phillip Tisson died from his injuries as a result of the shooting. It is thought that he was involved in an argument with another person in the club and was reportedly followed to his car by the same person around 4:25 am.
He has scored the winning goal in a New York City tournament against St. Kitts and was sitting in a car with a female companion outside the nightclub at 361 Utica Avenue in Crown Heights when the shooting took place. The bullet struck the female companion in the chest, but she is expected to survive.
The winning goal from Isidore Phillip Tisson means that St. Lucia will advance to the finals of the Digicel Caribbean Cup reports WPIX.
Acquaintances reportedly describe him as a gentle giant, a man devoted to his sport and to his 3-year-old daughter. Tisson was elected to the St. Lucia national team during the drive to qualify for this past World Cup.
Police are investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
