ITBP Inter-Sector Karate Championship ends on high note (breaking bricks.mov)

Mussoorie, 26 July: The Inter Sector Karate Championship which began four days ago at the ITBP Parade Ground, here, ended on a high note. The championship saw keenly contested bouts for the coveted Brown and Black Belts in different weight categories. The sectors competing in the championship were from Garhwal, HP, NE 1, NE II, Kumaon, Leh, L&C and TRG.
The results for overall championship were as follows: L&C with 45 points were first, NE-I, 36 points stood second, NE-II, 28 points came third, respectively.
CT/GD Nahar Singh KMN Sector was adjudged Best Brown Belt player of the competition. CT/GD Jugal Kishore - L&C Sector was adjudged Best Black Belt Player of the competition.
The Overall Championship went to L&C-Sector, while NE-I Sector was declared Runners-Up.
The Chief Guest on the occasion, IG KB Singh, commended the participating teams for the high standard at the competition and wished luck for the central team selected among the competing participants for the forthcoming nationals. He distributed the Trophy and certificates to the deserving participants.
The high point of his address was announcement of the sports policy for the Jawans. He stated that the jawans excelling in sports at the international level would be given out of turn promotions. The Karate development programme would be enhanced further by providing the players the best training and equipment at the Academy.
The Championship ended with a daring Karate skill demonstration by the ITBP jawans from different sectors.

Mussoorie, 23 July: The 13th Inter-Sector Karate Championship was inaugurated today at ITBP Parade Ground, here, today.
IG KB Singh, after declaring the championship open told the gathered participants that the ITBP had always excelled at the sport and won many medals in national and international events. He said that the same spirit and discipline needed to be maintained. He recalled the Police Academy days and stated that the Karate tutors had always come from the ITBP.
SI Dilip Singh Negi, the Chief Karate Coach of the ITBP central team said, “This championship will run for five days and the best players among the participating 8 sectors will be selected for the central team, which will go on for the nationals in Jharkhand and All India Karate Federation Games, Bangalore.” He also said that ITBP had always provided the best Karate players to the nation.
The eight sectors participating in the championship are from Garhwal, HP, NE 1,  NE II, Kumaon, Leh, L&C and TRG.
The finals will be held on 26 July.
