Jaba sized bellyflop
The New York Yankees experiment with Jaba Chamberlains as a starting pitcher couldn’t have been less impressive, chased from the game after just 2.1 innings of shaky work. Chamberlain walked four surrendering just one hit and one earned run but was exposed by a less then stellar pitch count, sixty-two pitches in just two and one third innings of work.
Joe Giradi, New York Yankees bench boss said before the game that Jaba would be limited to eighty pitched in his first start at the Major League level but eighty wasn’t to be and Jaba spent the majority of the game watching from the dugout.
Lunch Bag Letdown
If Jaba’s efforts against the Toronto Blue Jay’s are a sign of things to come then the Yank’s are undoubtably in deeper trouble then their sub five hundred record would indicate. Jaba Chamberlain , for good reason is directly linked to the future of the Yank’s. A future that some believe, under the control of a younger Stienbrenner is in great jeopardy of becoming just another team no longer able to call on the once storied ghosts of 161st and River.
After last nights performance by young "phenom" Jaba Chamberlain the sharks are certainly in the water and it smells of blood, their hungry, agitated and immensely anxious they haven’t seen prey this exotic since December of 1919.
