Jason Bailey Anti-Semitism Lawsuit: NHL's Anaheim Ducks Sued
NHL player Jason Bailey is reportedly suing the Anaheim Ducks, accusing team management of anti-Semitism.
According to various reports, Bailey claims that he was subjected to anti-Semitic slurs while playing for the Bakersfield Condors, Anaheim's minor league affiliate.
Bailey claims the head coach of the Condors told him "[Jews] only care about money and who's who" and that he "never wanted his son to be raised Jewish or to wear a Yarmulke."
Bailey claims the assistant head coach would get in on the Jew-bashing too -- saying things like, "Oh, I just got a friend request from a dirty Jew."
Bailey also claims that he was forced to travel apart from the Condors and was given less playing time because of his Jewish heritage.
In 2009, there were reports that a Bakersfield coach may have been suspended for racist comments.
Bailey was drafted in 2005 and signed a three-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks in 2008. Bailey is now with the Ottawa Senators.
