Jason Hargett won a million dollar for hitting a hole-in-one on a golf charity tournament in Utah. Hargett did not plan on playing but changed his mind. He later got a hole-in-one 150 yards away with a nine-iron.
He did not feel the pressure for making the shot, but felt weird because of the crowd behind him.
"You go up, and it's not something you expect to make," Jason said.
Jason said he doesn't remember much from the moment he sunk the ball. Jason hit a hole-in-one last year, but this, he said, was life altering. In fact, when he learned he won, he sent a text message to his wife, Amyee Hargett, telling her their "lives had just changed."
The money will be gradually paid out over 40 years, $25,000 each year. With 4 children aged from 10 to 17, the money will take "a lot of pressure off" the couple. They are not planning to make any big purchases.
Hargett won the Mark Eaton's Celebrity Golf Classic, which supports children and adults with diabetes.
