Jimmy Johnson, the Former Dallas Cowboys Head Coach, Has Signed Up to the Cast of Reality Show Survivor: Nicaragua

This will be the 21st season of Survivor and Johnson will appearing on the show as a contestant to compete for the immunity idol and the title of 'sole survivor'. This season will be taped in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua according to ESPN. The full cast will be revealed sometime in August.

The 67-year-old will have to compete against others twice his age, but with two Super Bowl titles under his belt it will hopefully be a breeze. Johnson has been working for Fox Sports as a pregame analyst since retiring from the NFL.

Several former Cowboys figures have been involved in popular television shows in retirement. Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin, part of "The Triplets" along with Troy Aikman who played for Johnson, competed in the ABC series "Dancing with the Stars."

Jimmy Johnson is not the first Cowboys presence on the long-running Survivor show; former quarterback Gary Hogeboom appeared on Survivor: Guatemala, but only made it to seventh place.

Filming for the show began at the end of June and it will be broadcast on Wednesdays at 8pm on CBS starting in September.
