Jiwan James Makes Amazing Barehand Catch

Reading Phillies outfielder and MLB prosect Jiwan James made what looks like an amazing barehanded catch over the outfield wall, totally robbing the Bowie Baysox' Johnathan Schoop of a home run.

In discussing the Jiwan James catch, USA Today's sentence "Even on replay, the catch is hard to disseminate" doesn't make any sort of sense, but we think they mean that it's hard to see exactly what happened.

It's possible that Jiwan James really did catch the ball with his bare hand after bailing his glove in the high leap. It's also possible that the ball hit the wall and then bounced into James' chest, which would mean that Schoop's hit should have been a home run.

Check out the Jiwan James barehanded catch video below: to us, it actually looks like Schoop's hit should have counted.
