Joannie Rochette to be Canadian Flag Bearer at Closing Ceremonies
Joannie Rochette has been chosen to be the Canadian flag bearer during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic closing ceremonies.
Rochette, who won a bronze medal in Ladies' Figure Skating, has become a household name after winning a medal after her mother Therese passed away only days before the competition.
Because of the courage she showed during these Games, she's been selected as Canada's flag bearer.
Rochette said she is thrilled and honoured, but surprised because so many Canadians won gold when she had earned bronze.
"It was a tough week for me.... I want to walk into that stadium with a big smile on my face."
Rochette also received the Terry Fox Award for embodying the best in the human spirit this weekend.
