Joe Buck-Artie Lange Video: That Joe Buck Is One Lucky Pierre

HBO's new talk show Joe Buck Live got off to an inauspicious start during a segment with comedians Artie Lange, Jason Sudeikis, and actor Paul Rudd.

Sparks flew when Lange unleashed a few ripe homophobic jokes about host Joe Buck and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. He referred to Romo's girlfriend Jessica Simpson as a "fat chick" who looks like comedian Chris Farley.

In another segment that appeared on the HBO website, Buck and Lange exchanged barbs. Buck referred to Lange as having "four chins" and Lange retorted that only had about four shows left on his new talk show. The discussion then turned to an odd sexual term known as the "Lucky Pierre."

Throughout the interview, Buck appears uncomfortable and out of his element, perhaps wondering if Joe Buck Live will be declared dead on arrival.

Artie Lange's appearance was the best part of the show. Brett Favre came off as a not-too-bright, self centered athlete. Ocho Cinco is a funny and entertaining player, but was not asked any questions of substance. Michael Irvin, as usual, gave honest, insightful comments, but the highlight of Irvin's appearance was his interaction with Lange.

Buck is intelligent and likeable, so the show has a chance to succeed. But if HBO is smart, they wil add Lange and Irvin as regulars on the show. Othewise, I don't plan to tune in again.
