John William Lomax has been charged today in the Jasper Howard murder case, the University of Connecticut football team member who was stabbed to death early last Sunday morning.

John William Lomax is only 21-years-old.

Jasper Howard was an expectant father and was killed on October 18th after supposedly trying to break up a fight outside a school dance.

"There's nothing written in the manual in how to deal with these situations, UConn football coach Randy Edsall said at an emotional press conference. "But I know this - this is a strong team, with strong leadership, and we'll get through it."

John William Lomax will appear in court on Wednesday, charged with murder and conspiracy to commit assault. Two other people have also been arrested in the murder.

Hakim Muhammad, 20, and Jamal Todd, 21, have been arrested, one with conspiracy to commit assault and the other with felony charges of falsely reporting an incident and a charge of reckless endangerment for pulling the fire alarm.
