Hong Man Choi v Jose Canseco MMA Video

Former Major Leaguer Jose Canseco fought in his first ever MMA match. The former Bash Brother got his head bashed in by Korea's Hong Man Choi, who needed just 1 minute and 17 seconds to score the winning knockout.

The Jose Canseco vs. Hong Man Choi fight, which took place in Yokohama, Japan, started off well for Canseco. He entered the ring with a baseball bat on his shoulder as the song "Wild Thing" blasted through the stadium. Once the bell rung, it was downhill from there. For the next 77 seconds, the 7'2", 330-pound Choi took Canseco apart. The referee ended the match after Choi got Canseco onto the mat and struck him in the head repeatedly. Canseco was helped ringside by his girlfriend, professional poker player Heidi Northcott.

After the fight, Canseco explained that he was slowed down by a knee injury he incurred in training.

The result isn't surprising considering that Canseco had limited experience inside the ring. Previously, Canseco had only taken part in some charity boxing matches, including a bout against former child star Danny Bonaduce. Clearly, sparring with the kid from The Partridge Family didn't quite prepare for a fight with a professional fighter who stands over seven feet tall.

“That’s a big man,” Canseco said after the fight. “I ran into one of his left jabs and that almost knocked me out. You have no idea how scary it was facing a man that big.”
