Washington Capitals goaltender Jose Theodore and wife Stephanie Cloutier are in mourning over the death of their two-month-old son.
Jose Theodore's son, who was born two months premature, had been in hospital since being born in June due to respiratory problems.
The Washington Capitals have confirmed the death of Jose Theodore's son.
"We are aware of the heartbreaking news," GM George McPhee said in a statement issued by the team moments ago. "At this time we ask that everyone respects the privacy of Jose and his family."
Jose Theodore has a three-year-old daughter who suffered from respiratory problems at birth but made a full recovery.
