K-Baller 24 vs Dunkadelic Superman, NBA Finals Showdown Remix
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic will battle each other in the NBA Finals starting tomorrow night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In honor of National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month 2009 (www.NBHHCM.org) that started this past Monday June 1st. Here's the breakdown of the series between both teams like Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, Tupac, Eminem, or Rakim on the micraphone. Guards: The Orlando Magic have Rafer Alston and Mickael Pietrus both have had their moments during this years playoffs. Pietrus played good defense on LeBron James during the Eastern Conference Finals. Courtney Lee and Anthony Johnson can come off the bench and give Orlando a stablizing duo on the floor. Lee could explode in spurts on the offensive end. Pietrus will have the challenge of guarding Kobe who is the best finisher in the game during the 4th quarter. The Lakers have the best overall player in the league in Kobe Bryant. He will put pressure on the Magic guards at both ends of the court. Derek Fisher is a tough veteran match-up for Alston or Lee on the defensive end. The Lakers bench of Jordan Famar, Sasha Vujacic, and Shannon Brown when making shots make the Lakers back-court the best 5-man rotation in the legaue. Brown might be the bench x-factor for the Lakers. Kobe will be focused on his goal of winning a title without Shaq, and be in zone that will put pressure on the Magic guards for the entire series. Lakers 5-Mics, Magic 3- Mics Forwards: The Magic has a strong and talented forward duo in Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu. They have been complimentry to Howard on both ends of the floor. When Howard is struggling on offense they have been there to take a load off the star center. Lewis is a sharp-shooter and Turkoglu has the ability to put the rock on the floor and drive to the basket. Tony Battie and Marcin Gortat are limited in the offensive department but can rebound and play strong aggressive defense. The Lakers starting duo of Pau Gasol and dunkadelic swingman Trevor Ariza gives L.A. a firm forward attack. Gasol will have the height match-up over Lewis and Turkoglu and will at times be facing Howard. Ariza will be able to drive to the basket but will be facing Howard at the rim. Lamar Odom and Josh Powell can come off the bench and score points. Lamar Odom could benefit from coming off the bench and give the Lakers an offensive puhch. If L.O. is in the flow, then there will be a happy coach that runs the "Lakeshow." Lakers 4-Mics, Magic 4-Mics Centers: The Magic have the most dominant post player in the league with Dwight Howard. Howard the 2009 NBA Defensive Player of the Year has the ability to over-match any opponent down low. He may face multiple Laker players in the post, but will have the advantage over them. Battie and Gortat will both spend time at the 5-position. Howard is a beast, and his production will determine if the Magic can have a chance to win this series. The Lakers Andrew Bynum will have a tough task guarding Howard. His backup center DJ Mbenga will be getting the most minutes of the entire playoffs when Phil Jackson asks him to go in and face Howard. If Bynum can stay out of foul trouble and make some contributions in the he will give the Lakers a great chance to end this series in 5-6 games. Magic-4 mics, Lakers 3-mics Defense: the Magic have Howard the Defensive POY to go along with Pietrus. Orlando will be learning how to deal with The Finals atmosphere while the Lakers will be home. The Lakers have All-NBA Defensive First teamer Kobe Bryant, Trevor Ariza, and Derek Fisher. Even with Howard the edge goes to the Lakers. Lakers 4-mics, Magic 3.5-mics Experience: This is a new experience for the Magic. They don't have any of there starters with NBA Finals experience. Turkoglu was a member of the Sacramento Kings against the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals in 2002. Anthony Johnson was on the New Jersey Nets teams in 2002 and 2003 that made runs to The Finals. The Lakers have the same team that went to The Finals last season. Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher are making their 6th NBA Finals trip. The back-to-back Finals trip with the home-court gives the Lakers the advantage. Lakers 4.5-mics, Magic 2-mics One-on-One MC Battle: The Kobe vs LeBron dream NBA Finals was derailed by Orlando. Dwight Howard is growing as a player and is getting better. His time will come but it won't be this year. Kobe like one of Dr. Dre's lyrics, " I've been there and done that" is made for this stage. Kobe Bryant is on the verge of becoming one of the 10 best players in NBA history. With a NBA Championship rebuilding a team around him and getting that 4th bling-ring he will be cementing his Top 10 resume. Kobe with the ball in his hand is like a rap mc legend rocking the mic. Kobe 5-mics, Dwight 3.5-mics Coaching: Stan Van Gundy will give his best effort for the Magic who can pull the upset with a few breaks and the Lakers making big mistakes. All-in-all he's facing an up hill battle against one of the two best Championship coaches in NBA history. Phil Jackson will be looking to pass Red Auerbach with an NBA Record 10th Championship. This is Jackson's 12th NBA Finals appearence (6-Buls, 6-Lakers). He's 30-0 in series when his teams win game 1 of the series. This will be the Lakers organization 30th NBA Finals. They will be 15-15 a .500 record if they win this series. You win one, you lose one. Last year they lost one, and this year they win one. Phil Jackson 5-mics, Stan Van Gundy 2.5-mics NBA Finals Album of the Year: "Lakers Redemption Remix in Six Volume 1"
