Kassim Osgood Pistol-Whipped By Julian Armond Bartletto
Kassim Osgood Was Attacked and Pistol-Whipped By a Female Friend's Ex-Boyfriend, Julian Armond Bartletto, on Monday
The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver ended up having to jump out of a second-floor window to escape after Julian Armond Bartletto burst into the home of his ex-girlfriend Mackenzie Rae Putnal, whom Osgood was visiting at the time in Jacksonville.
Osgood and Putnal were watching TV when Bartletto burst in to the home just before 11:15pm. He had a bag over his head and pointed his gun at both of them, saying "I can't believe you're with that guy." He then pulled Putnal by her hair and hit her with the gun, before hitting Osgood as well. He also hit her dog a few times and held the gun to her head when she tried to run away. When she finally managed to escape down the hall, Bartletto ran after her and that's when Osgood jammed a chair under the door and jumped out the window to the grass below. He went to a neighbor's to call for help, while Putnal and Bartletto confronted each other with guns and both shot, but missed.
Osgood had some minor bruises according to the Florida Times-Union, but he has not commented publicly about the incident.
By the time it was over, the armed intruder traded gunfire with the woman after sticking a gun to her head, saying, “What did that football player say to his girlfriend, 'it’s a good day to die,'” misquoting ex-Florida Gator Chris Rainey’s recent text message to a former girlfriend after an arrest, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.
Julian Armond Bartletto was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, armed robbery, violation of an injunction and burglary. He is currently being held in the Duval County jail.
He is not allowed to approach Putnal from a previous protection order, nor is he allowed to go near her place of employment.
