The NBA regular-season is coming to an end and all eyes will be on the Cleveland Cavaliers (56-15) and Los Angeles Lakers (52-18). Will there be the "Dream Finals" match-up of Kobe vs. LeBron, can the Lakers make it back-to-back, will this be the last run for LeBron as a member of the Cavs. There are so many questions that need to be answered. The Cavaliers have beaten the Lakers both times they met this season. The Cavs have the best record in the league and more than likely will have home-court all the way even if they meet the Lakers in The Finals.

The 2009-10 Lakers have had their ups and downs this season. They have had to win 6-games by last second shots by superstar Kobe Bryant. If they had lost 3 or 4 of those games they would be fighting for home court-advantage vs. Denver or Dallas. Denver has the confidence to beat the Lakers, and Dallas is going through a transition period adding new players to the roster.

The Lakers lost 3-games in a row for first time since the trade for Pau Gasol over 2-years ago. They have had times when the bench is not a factor. On defense they have gotten burned in crucial situations. The Lakers haven't played their best basketball and maybe they are ready to turn it up a notch and make a serious run at another title.

The Lakers championship hopes will be on the shoulders of their 6-core players Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, and first year teammate Ron Artest. They have been given the nickname "Ko P. DeLA-Ron" by the NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) Foundation.

The Ko P. DeLA-Ron nickname comes from the first name of all 6 players Ko-Kobe, P.-Pau, De-Derek, L-Lamar, A-Andrew, and Ron-Ron. The team last season could've been nicknamed Ko P. DeLAriza Ko-Kobe, P.-Pau, De-Derek, L-Lamar, A-Andrew, and Riza-Ariza (Trevor).

This Lakers team must win a championship or the season is a failure. Artest has said, "if the team dosen't win it all I must take the blame." Time will tell if Ron will be the hero or the goat.

The Lakers are and will be the favorite to win the west. With home court-advantage can any other teams in the conference beat them 4 times in 10-days. Charles Barkley the TNT analyst and Hall of Famer said, "there is no team in the NBA that will beat the Lakers 4 out of 7 times, I just don't see it."

When the playoffs start 3 weeks from now it will be race to see if the Lakers can win 16 playoff games and also raise the 16th NBA title in franchise history putting them one behind the Boston Celtics who have 17.
