The Los Angeles Lakers came into the 2009-10 season as the favorite to win another NBA Championship. The pressure was on this club who only made one roster change from last seasons champions, and that was to add Ron Artest. Artest was supposed to be the toughness that this Laker team needed. He proved that last night as the Lakers held on to beat the Boston Celtics 83-79 to win back-to-back NBA titles. Artest said at the beginning of the season if the Lakers didn't repeat it would be his fault.

The team got a new signature name to start the 2009-10 season by the NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) Foundation. The signature nickname is a combination of the first name of the 6 core players who would lead the Lakers and eventually decide if they would win an NBA Championship.

"Ko P. DeLA-Ron" was the signature name.

The signature name breakdown Ko-Kobe, P.-Pau, De-Derek, L-Lamar, A-Andrew, Ron-Ron (LA also is for Los Angeles).

The Ko P. DeLA-Ron Lakers scored 81 of the teams 83 points in game 7 of the NBA Finals. Kobe scored 23 on 6-24 shooting, he added 15 huge rebounds and took home the 2010 Finals MVP Award. Ron Artest was the Player of the Night he scored 20 points with 5 rebounds, and 5 big steals. Pau Gasol scored 19 points with 18 rebounds. Gasol was big down the stretch making shots and hitting free-throws. Derek Fisher scored 10 points but made the play of the game on a 3-point shot to tie the game at 64. Lamar Odom scored 7 and Andrew Bynum playing on a injured leg scored 2 points for LA. Sasha Vujacic came of the bench and scored 2 points on needed free-throws in the 4th quarter to help seal the victory.

The Lakers are now a two-time NBA Champion with this group of players and they can now strut their cool signature championship name "Ko P. DeLA-Ron."
