Kobayashi beats and outeats Chestnut in pizza-eating rematch
Takeru Kobayashi has beaten Joey Chestnut in a pizza eating contest. The event took place at Stage 15 at Sony Studios with Kobayashi swallowing down 5 and 3/4 one-pound P'zones in six minutes while Chestnut wolfed down 5 and 1/2 P'zones.
Kobayashi is a six-time world hot dog eating champion from Japan who shocked the eating world when he first appeared as a small sized competitor from the East. The two combatant and arch rival are best known for their annual Fourth of July Hot Dog eating showdown at New York's Coney Island. Kobayashi was the reigning champion before Chestnut appeared to dethrone Kobayashi in the past two years.
The Pizza eating contest was sponsored by Pizza hut featuring their own P'zone which weighs one pound with pepperoni and other ingredients wrapped inside a crust 12 inches long.
The event will air on Spike TV "Guys' Choice" show on June 21.
Chestnut took an early lead, squeezing a P’zone in his left fist while alternately slugging from a water bottle. Soon, liquid splashed all over Chestnut’s white jersey and dripped from his mouth.
Kobayashi took a tidier approach.
He roared back to take the lead for good on his second P’zone, tearing off bites of the golden crust, then folding it over and sipping carefully from a series of white paper cups that he refilled with water.

Who needs Kobe-LeBron or Nadal-Federer when you have Kobayashi-Chestnut? Arguably the greatest rivalry out there right now.
