Kobe Bryant the superstar guard of the Los Angeles Lakers is the Ko of the the "Ko P. LA-Ron Dynasty" Lakers. He also delivered the overtime KO punch, a 15ft. fadaway jump-shot as time expired to lift his team to a 107-106 victory last night over a game and determined Milwaukee Bucks squad that hosted LA at the Bradley Center. Bryant is making his heroics with a broken index finger.

Kobe scored 39 and Pau Gasol poured in another 26 and added 22 rebounds to lead the Lakers to back-to-back road wins in consecutive nights. Gasol had his 5th straight double-double. Ron Artest scored only 10 points, but made a crucial 3-point shot in overtime. Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum (the LA of Ko P. LA-Ron) both added 8 points each. Odom also recorded 7 rebounds off the bench.

The Lakers defeated the Chicago Bulls the previous evening at the United Center 96-87. Kobe led all scorers with a season-high 42 points in the house that Michael Jordan built as his retired #23 jersey was hanging from the rafters. The 42-point effort by Bryant was game 101 of his career with 40+ points. He trails only Wilt Chamberlain (271) and Michael Jordan (173) on the all-time list.

The "Ko P. LA-Ron" crew scored 81 of the teams 96 points vs. the Bulls and 91 of the 107 team points vs. the Bucks. The Lakers are 12-1 since Pau Gasol has returned to line-up to complete the 5-man signature nickname "Ko P. LA-Ron."

The signature nickname is broken down using the first name of all 5 players. The Ko-Kobe, P.-Pau, L-Lamar, A-Andrew, and Ron-Ron.

Ron Artest is the one key member of "Ko P. LA-Ron" that needs to be more consistent on the offensive end. He is still learning the triangle-offense. His productivity will need to improve as the Lakers go to a 7-8 man rotation during the playoffs. This is a standard routine that is often used by head coach Phil Jackson. LA is tied with the Boston Cetics (20-4) for the leagues best record. Boston held the home-court advantage in 2008 on their way to winning the NBA Championship.

The Lakers will play 2 more road games Saturday vs. the New Jersey Nets and Sunday vs. the Detroit Pistons before they head home for a Tuesday (12/22) night game vs. the much improved Oklahoma City Thunder and budding superstar Kevin Durant. LA will host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers Christmas Day. It will be a Christmas Day Showdown Bron-N-Shaq vs. "Ko P. LA-Ron."
