Brendon McCullum and VVS Laxman came out with a positive intent and both smashed the bowling to all parts of the ground. Kochi failed to capitalise on the good start they got. Local hero Sreesanth got the big wicket of Dilshan early and Vinay Kumar dismissed the dangerous Virat Kohli, but the bowling didn't have much bite after that. de Villiers and Agarwal stitched together a partnership and got the target down even though the run rate was increasing. Agarwal fell at a crucial time but cameos from Tiwary and Pathan in company of the ever dependable ABD took Bangalore to a comfortable win.
