Last Minute Goal For Arabs Salvages a Point Against Hoops "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Matthew 7:12, see also Luke 6:31) Never has a truer statement been spoken than this in the 94th minute of today's match between Celtic and Dundee United.
Celtic are the masters of scoring in the last minute of matches; today they were on the receiving end of this misfortune that they inflict on others.
Celtic had dominated the first half and I still unsure why the scoreline was only 1-0 at the break but Dundee United took full advantage of Celtic's scoring flaws and came at the Glasgow side like a raging bull in the second 45.
When the referee added 3 minutes at the end of the regulation 90, the Celtic fans started heading for the gates. The Dundee United fans didn't and they weren't disappointed as their team battled right to the end, winning a free kick in the 94th minute with the resulting equalizer being fired in from the set piece.
Had Dundee United more fans at Celtic Park, it would have been bedlam, but the few who made the trip west to the East end of Glasgow were jubilant at snatching two points away from the Hoops.
After the past couple of weeks silliness involving Celtic, John Reid, Neil Lennon and referees, it was nice to see Celtic get back to playing football. No politics, just football.
I just hope that Neil Lennon doesn't blame the referee for adding too much time at the end for his sides draw!
