Leeds United midfielder Jonny Howson is set to be offered a new contract by the League One club.

The 20-year-old has two years left on his current deal but chairman Ken Bates said discussions with the highly-rated youngster will happen soon.

"If it hadn't been for the play-offs it's something we would have looked at already," he told the club's website.

"There have been other priorities and we've had to delay discussions slightly but we'll look to sort it out quickly."
