Brazilian Grand Prix In Pictures

Lewis Hamilton wins the Formula 1 Championship in dramatic fashion, coming in 5th at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The first Englishman to win since Damon Hill in 1996 and the youngest ever, Lewis started 4th on the grid and Massa in pole, with rain at the start of the race and predicated later on, caused problems for the teams, Mclaren made the decision to go to wet tyres at the end hoping it would rain in the last few laps, Massa won the race, Hamilton dropped to 6th with Vettel passing him but Timo Glock fell back for Hamilton to squeeze in and take the 5th spot and the championship, a fantastic race and one of the most excting finishes you could see. Lewis is also the first Englishman to win in a Mclaren since James Hunt in 1976.

Lewis Hamilton became the youngest world champion in Formula One history by the skin of his teeth after a nail-biting Brazilian Grand Prix.

The English McLaren driver's title rival Felipe Massa won the race in his Ferrari but Hamilton grabbed the fifth place he needed at the last corner.

A late-race rain shower looked set to rob Hamilton of the title after a stop for wet tyres dropped him to sixth.

But he passed Toyota's Timo Glock as they entered the pit straight.

Renault's Fernando Alonso, the previous youngest champion, was second ahead of Massa's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen and Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel.

November the 2nd... A day to be remembered... Maybe one of the most emotional day for Lewis Hamilton, so as for Felipe Massa, two formula one pilots, who were fighting agaisnt the weather for the decision of the F1 Championship... The last lap, at the last curve, the destiny of these pilots were decided, one for glory, the other for one more year waiting... Lewis Hamilton is now declared Champion of 2008! All the best for them, better lucky next year Massa.!!

Hamilton is the champion only because of the silly error by the German. just 1 point!! It would've been a heart breaker had Hamilton missed it again.. today, I'm proud to be British :)

agdobson, I like this story. It's good stuff. Amazing last race for a formula 1 to be decided in huh? I felt kind of bad for Massa who thought he had won as he finished the race, but I guess Lewis just proved right one of the worlds oldest sayings "It isn't over, till its over!" Congrats to both pilots, for a great formula 1 championship, can't wait till 2009!

It's good to see Hamilton win and overcome all the racist taunts he had to put with.
