This is no surprise, but the Vancouver Canucks will be retiring the number 16. Linden, the face of the organization over the past couple of decades will have his jersey raised on Dec. 17. Congratulations to him, he deserves it.
Finally something else to hang up on the empty rafters of GM Place.
The Vancouver Canucks made official today what many have suspected since the final moments of last season: they're going to retire Trevor Linden's No. 16 jersey.
The big event will take place Dec. 17 at GM Place.
"It's going to be exciting," Linden said today at a press conference to formally announce Trevor Linden Night. "I'm going to be a bit nervous but sharing that with our fans, my friends, my family and my teammates, or ex-teammates, will be very special."
Now I wonder if Naslund's jersey will be retired in the future. My guess is, YES.
