Lindsey Vonn suffered serious injuries on February 5, 2013 while competing in a super-G race at the world ski championships in Austria 

The Lindsey Vonn crash occurred when she appeared to balance after landing a jump. She was rushed to hospital by helicopter. Vonn had recently recovered from intestinal problems.

Vonn is a four-time World Champion.
