Lindsey Vonn overcame a shin injury to win historic gold in the Vancouver 2010 Women's Downhill.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Women's Downhill results:

  • Lindsey Vonn (USA): Gold Medal First American woman to win Gold in this event
  • Julia Mancuso (USA): Silver Medal
  • Elisabeth Georgl (AUT): Bronze Medal

Marion Rolland of France had a heartbreaking fall just out of the gate, and did not finish. Just afterwards, Sweden's Anja Paerson had a huge and terrifying crash. I bet a CTV announcer will get in trouble for declaring, "That was awesome!" Marusa Ferk also had a heinous crash, sending her through one of the fences.
Today is the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Women's Downhill. Current world champion Lindsey Vonn is in Gold Medal position. Can Lindsey Vonn overcome injury to take gold, or will the Canadians continue in their quest to... own the podium?

American fans will be cheering for Lindsey VonnStacey CookJulia Mancuso, andAlice McKennis. Canadians will be rooting for Britt JanykEmily BrydonGeorgia Simmerling, and Shona Rubens.

The Ladies' Downhill begins at 11am PST/2pm EST. Follow live Twitter coverage via Scan right here!
