Messi vs Arsenal: Messi Wins 4-1

Lionel Messi scored all four of Barcelona's goals in its 4-1 win over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League. Messi, who will play for Brazil in the 2010 World Cup, is only 22 years old. Messi has now scored 15 goals in the last nine games. Performances like this are what get people into soccer.

Messi now joins the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo,  Didier Drogba, and other internationally-known soccer heroes, and leads the top 50 in ESPN's World Cup pre-tournament coverage. Covering this guy is going to be the unpleasant task of several world-class defenders later this summer.

'Messi is a Playstation'

Of Lionel Messi, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said, "He's a Playstation". Wenger meant that Messi's performance was like that of a video game character, playing at an unrealistic level.

With just 64 days until the showpiece tournament in South Africa kicks off, Messi has hit form that can only be described as World beating.
And that's what makes Lionel Messi so much fun. He's not just the best player in the world, but he's making everyone in the world – and that's starting to include the average American sports fan – take notice every time he plays. How can one not pay attention when he's putting on a show like he did against Arsenal on Tuesday, scoring all four of Barcelona's goals in a 4-1 victory in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals?
