This is sad. It is very likely that

Detroit will not win a game this

season.  They could end 0-16.

The Detroit fans deserve better.

The Detroit Lions own a dubious piece of NFL history — with perhaps more on the way.

Detroit became the first 0-15 team ever when it was routed 42-7 by the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Lions will try to avoid an perfectly awful season in the finale at Green Bay, where they haven't won since 1991.

Drew Brees threw for 351 yards and two touchdowns after four Saints ran for scores in the first half. Brees stayed in the game with a 35-point lead late in the fourth quarter to move closer to Dan Marino's single-season record for yards passing. He needs 402 at home against Carolina to break Marino's record of 5,084 set in 1984.

The Lions were outscored by a combined 176 points at home this season, smashing the previous record of 146 set by the 1981 Colts

I honestly thought the Lions had a shot to win today, playing at home against a team with nothing to play for. The fact that they got beaten that badly shows that they really are the worst team in NFL history. Their last game is in Green Bay where they haven't won since 1991. Prepare to witness history next week.

I was at the game today and they looked bad on defense. That said, the game turned (as much as a 35-point loss can have a turning point) in the first quarter when the Saints scored in the first two minutes of the game following a long opening kickoff return. However the Lions put together a nice drive and had a 50-yd TD pass to Calvin Johnson called back for holding. Detroit promptly threw a INT giving the Saints the ball on the 3-yard line. The Saints had a long (7 minutes?) drive 97-yards for a TD and a 14-0 lead. Detroit never recovered from that 5-yd penalty.

Thanks for the eye witness report.

Been a season ticket holder for years. I'm just glad there are no more home games left to attend this year. I have been put out of my misery.
