Live Cricket Streaming: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20 World Cup 2012
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ICC T20 World Cup 2012 first semi final is going to be very interesting and both the teams look very balanced. Whoever performs well will move to the finals.
Sri Lanka vs Pakistan match today is very important for both the teams. The first semi-final of ICC T20 World Cup is being played between two major cricket nations from South Asia and both would like to win. Sri Lankan team after reaming bridesmaid for long will like to win the tournament and not be left behind a resurgent Pakistani team that got a big boost in morale in the last match when they trounced Australia by a huge margin.
Pakistan has established itself as the top team as far as spin bowling is concerned. In their last match against Australia who remained unbeaten till then and many didn’t give Pakistan much of a chance, let alone win with such big margin, Muhammad Hafeez used his spin options with great deft. Umar Gul, Suhail Tanwir and others didn’t get any chance to bowl a single over till the very end of the Australian inning. The top Pakistani fast bowler Umar Gul bowled his first over in only 18th over. Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Hafeez, Hasan Raza, besides of course Shahid Afridi bowled till then and strangulated the Kangaroos.
But today is a different day and Pakistani team is playing an altogether different and very energised team. Lankans are adept at playing spin and Jayawardene, Sangakkara etc have long experience in playing spin bowling. They also have quality spin bowler in Ajantha Mendis and may deploy him to choke Pakistani batting.
After starting the tournament on shaky ground, Sri Lankan team has progressed well and has played exceedingly well in the Super Eight. They have beaten New Zealand after a tough match and then West Indies and England with rather great ease.
Their quality bowling attack will make the life difficult for Pakistani batting order that hasn’t really fared that well during the whole tournament. Nasir Jamshed has been a revelation of sorts, but barring him others have been unimpressive. Sri Lankan pacers including Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara will try their best to choke their top and middle order with their impressive fast bowling.
Hafeez must have devised a plan against Lankans. Let’s wait and see what he does on the field. Jayawardene is a great strategists. Pakistani captain will have to match him in every field to enable the team reach the final.
