To counter the bad publicity that the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Committee has received, London's 2012 Olympic bosses are implementing a "draconian" gagging order, which prevents companies that are building the infrastructure from talking publicly about their projects for six years.

If a "leak" of information occurs the contract allows the the Olympic Delivery Authority to search the companies premises and email history.

The contract says companies and their subcontractors must not "do anything… which would have an adverse effect on, or embarrass any Games body or any supporter of the Games or official sponsor."

Many companies are shocked that they have to sign a contract allowing 2012  full access to their private business transaction and for such an extended period of time. Firms sign away any right to talk publicly about
    Technical Plans
    Cost of Venues
    Project Progress
    Environmental Issues
    Health and Safety Measures
    Discussions with Ministers

Furthermore, if a breach of contract occurs the company responsible must reimburse the Olympic Delivery Authority for any cost or liabilities.

Wow. That is absolutely amazing. Talk about the freedom of speech. I wonder if this is an initiative of IOC or London 2012 organizing committee.

That was going to be my question! The 2012 Olympics are supposed to be bringing the country together etc. etc. but we're still not allowed to know what's happening!

Thius was a chance cheeky shot which I just couldn't resist - in reality of course there is a lot more going on just out of shot to the left, but that's the beauty of photography, you can frame (and edit!) the subject just by moving slightly offcentre......

Very interesting decision to restrict information flow on such a global event.
