Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra Handshake Video-Man U-Liverpool Feb 2012
Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra Met Again During the Liverpool-Manchester United Match on February 11, 2012. It Didn't Go Well As Suarez Refused To Shake Evra's Hand. Here is Video
It looks like the controversy between Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra won't go away anytime soon. Prior to the Liverpool-Manchester United match on Saturday, February 22, 2012, Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand, a common custom at football matches.
Prior to kickoff, both teams lined up for a pregame handshake. As Suarez made his way down the line of Man U players he deliberately skipped over Evra, choosing to shake hands with goalkeeper David de Gea. A visibly upset Evra grabbed Suarez's arm, but the Uruguayan international kept moving on.
Evra's Man U teammate Rio Ferdinand apparently refused to shake Suarez's hand prior to the game.
After the game, Sir Alex Ferguson called Suarez "a disgrace to Liverpool football club."
The Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra handshake incident stems from an incident earlier this season where Suarez allegedly used a racial slur when speaking to Evra. Suarez was later suspended for the incident.
