Marine Corps Marathon 2010 Registration Opened

The 35th Marine Corps Marathon is now open for registration. The Marine Corps Marathon will take place in Arlington, VA, on October 31, 2010. Only 30,000 participants will be allowed to enter the marathon, so act quick. Anyone older than the age of 14 is welcomed. The registration fee is $90. For those between age of 6 to 13, they can join the one mile Healthy Kids Fun Run on Oct. 30. The 10K run and the Kids Fun Run will be open for registration on May 5.

The 35th Marine Corps Marathon course is expected to run through Arlington, Virginia, and Washington DC. Last year's course map is still on the Marine Corps Marathon website.

In 2009, 34-year-old US Navy Lieutenant Commander John Mentze won the Marathon.

Marine Corps Marathon is also seeking volunteers. Volunteers will assist at water stations, hospitality areas, baggage tent, medical stations, the Healthy Kids Fun Run, the Health and Fitness Expo, and at the information tents. Volunteer registration will start in May 2010. More information is on Marine Corps Marathon website.
