Mark Cuban Rips Skip Bayless, Stephen A Smith: June 2012 Video
Mark Cuban Destroyed Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith on First Take on May 22, 2012. Here is Video
Mark Cuban did something that most sports fans have wanted to: tell Skip Bayless that he's an idiot. On May 22, 2012, Mark Cuban appeared on ESPN's First Take and took on Skip Bayless for being Skip Bayless, a professional troll who has made good money in his career for being a bloated gasbag. He also had a few choice words for Stephen A. Smith.
The Mark Cuban-Skip Bayless conversation came a day after the LeBron James won his first NBA title. Bayless prattled on about how the Heat won because they wanted it more and Cuban wasn't having it.
While Bayless spoke in platitudes, Cuban tried to get specific, asking Bayless what defensive schemes the Thunder used against LeBron. Not surprisingly, Bayless didn't seem to have much of an answer.
Here is another Cuban-Bayless exchange:
Cuban: You guys were just saying Miami wanted it more or less, that is such horse-you know what, right? … It’s not that Oklahoma City don’t want it more, I think that Miami was better prepared to play the game in terms of adjustments and changes … but you’re saying they wanted it more, that’s ridiculous!
Bayless: Who played harder the last games? Miami did every game. LeBron played harder than Kevin Durant did the last four games.
Cuban: That is the most ridiculous thing that any sports writer has ever said.
Then Cuban went in on fellow ESPN troll Stephen A. Smith saying his two-year-old son does a better job breaking down NBA tape than Smith. Video here

agree with mark cuban entirely in this argument, a lot of the situations lbj was put into during the finals last year versus this year, his succcess rate in either making the basket or making the correct pass to someone who will make the basket is a team effort because basketball is team game. not taking anything away from lebron's talent because he is truly awesome to present an extremely unfair match-up in his position against any team but you have 4 other guys to go to and 5 other guys to think about, team wins championships not individuals. the individual will be the anchorpoint for a successful offense (and defense) but if the defending team do not realize the individual's capability to create damage to the defense, you don't go around and single out one individual even if it's lebron. there' plenty of objective adjustments that can be created, debated and discussed for and against any team in any professional sport but it's a lot of hoooah and nonsense to conveniently "generalize then to single" out the situations into one individual.this session is classic, mark is brilliant in creating his arguments in and out of skip's wit and skip doesn't even realize he's blasted right in front of national tv..lol.

Cuban looked bad for saying Skip doesn't use facts to back up their claims. Skip uses stats and facts all the time. Yes the Mavs did some things to take LBJ out of his game, but to my eyes LBJ didn't have the mental fortitude to impose his will on the Mavs. He mentally checked out. Credit the Mavs for doing things to frustrate the king, but he wasn't able to rise above it. Contrast that with his performance this year... night and day. Therefore Skip was right to say LBJ disappeared against the Mavs and played harder vs OKC. It was obvious. Just because he doesn't have the insider knowledge that Cuban has or the ability to break down film that Cuban's son apparently has, doesn't mean that he's wrong in this particular case.

sorry to disagree with you nikoli entirely on skip using facts all the time...he may know the facts, i don't think he uses it most of the time. i don't think it's right to say lbj "disappeared" against the mavs during that finals and this is what mark is trying to objectively point out to skip on national tv; what's worthy of being discussed is why was lbj placed our of his game during that series because this kind of argument can be backed up by facts not speculations about his leadership and "fortitude", disagree totally with you further on LBJ playing harder than OKC, to reiterate; that's just a lot of horseshit when you're playing in the biggest series of your life.Skip looked stupid in this coverage and he allowed himself to be placed in that position because he thought mark wouldn't have the ability to drill down the game details the way he did, my advise; don't join skip's league...
