Leeds defender Rui Marques Marques only played one game under former boss Kevin Blackwell

Angolan international defender Rui Marques has agreed a new two-year contract with Leeds United.

The 30-year-old joined Leeds on a free transfer in July 2005 and previously had spells at Portuguese side Maritimo and German team VfB Stuttgart.

Marques, who had a loan spell at Hull in March 2006, had to wait until January 2007 to make his league debut.

The centre-back played for Angola at the 2006 World Cup and at the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
