A bump by Elliott Sadler in the second lap caused Five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson to crash into a wall, leading to a chain-reaction wreck involving Danica Patrick, defending Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne, David Ragan and Kurt Busch

Juan Pablo Montoya's crash, though, was the most spectacular in what was a strange and dramatic race.

Danica Patrick and Trevor Bayne were able to get back into the race, but they were left with no chance of victory.

Martin Truex Jr. won the $200,000 bonus for leading at the halfway point of the Daytona 500.
