Ode To Joy

The principal of Danvers High School in Massachusetts clearly isn't a fan of Facebook or the Muppet Show. Danver high school has banned the use of the word "meep" at the school. Anyone caught meeping could face a suspension.

Danvers High School principal Thomas Murray claims that some students hatched a plan via Facebook to disrupt class using the word "meep." Students had been saying meep in the halls prior to this and Murray wanted to nip all this meeping in the bud.

So what does "meep" mean? It can mean whatever you want it to mean. The word is gibberish made popular by the character Beeker from The Muppet Show. It's also used by The Roadrunner from old Warner Bros. cartoons.

This is meeping ridiculous. Danvers, are you meeping nuts. or just over-meepingly sensitive? This is another knee jerk reaction to a harmless issue.Meep MeepP

It's also used in Phineas & Ferb quite a lot!

Funny how all the shortsighted kiddies out there think he's banning a word, when in reality, he's actually banning class disruption. News flash: That's been happening since there have *been* classrooms.News Flash #2: Does anyone really think this is the first time a principal has banned a certain item, event, etc., that can be used to incite what *they* believe to be disruption/anti-staff sentiment? It's just the first time it's happened to YOU. This has been going on for ages.Get over it and move on with life. I can't believe this is a news story. What's next? A story about a teacher who bans hanging out in the bathroom at lunch? OOOoooooh!
